Luxtreks is a long time LUTW affiliate based in Canmore. Trained by LUTW, Luxtreks conducts philanthropic treks that include the installation of solid state lighting systems at no cost to very poor communities in Pakistan.

Luxtreks teams installed lighting systems in 235 homes in the Shimshal Valley of Northern Pakistan. The remote Shimzal community is comprised of three villages; Aminabad, Shimshal and Khizerabad, all of which were lamped. Luxtreks is planning to provide funds in April 2004 for the building of a school in the poorest village of Aminabad.
